Closing the Bones

Ro Hipping (formally known as Closing the Bones) is an ancient, traditional trauma and birth recovery massage and ceremonial wrapping in sacred scarves, made by indigenous grandmothers in Mexico and Ecuador.

It is believed that during birth, the mother journeys to the stars to bring her baby’s soul through and out of her body earthside. Without closing the portal that physically opens during birth or traumatic experiences, the woman continues to lose her vital energy. CtB massage moves the organs back to where they were before pregnancy and supports the pelvis bones back to their original shape. This gently expels the stories we hold in the seat of our subconscious – our womb space.

We begin with a (clothed) full body standing and laying massage with rebozo scarves. This relaxes the fascia, and stimulates the body’s self-healing by activating meridian lines and flushing out toxins. We then gently rock the hips before massaging the womb and chest. Finally, we wrap the whole body, and allow it to integrate the healing in a state of deep rest and safety - like being in the womb.

£150 for
3 hour ceremony

During and after your experience you may feel emotional, unusually talkative, or quiet and reflective. You may experience deep dreaming or visions when wrapped, much like being returned to the womb yourself. I will be here to support you throughout and offer nurturing hot chocolate or heart-opening cacao* afterwards while you integrate your experience.
