What Does a Doula Do?

A doula can hold space, create a ceremony to celebrate or support whatever comes up
as you enter (or re-enter) parenthood. Doulas help you take care of you, so you can take care of your baby.

As a Doula I help prepare your mind, body, partner and older children for your new arrival and the changes that will come with welcoming them into your world. I offer education and awareness around your rights and advocate with you or for your needs on your journey through pregnancy and birth.

What Doesn’t a Doula Do?

A doula isn’t medically trained, so we don’t diagnose, assess, or intervene physically in your birth. Whether at home, in a hospital or birthing centre, your Midwives and medical team will be at hand to give you as much (or as little) assistance as you’d like.

I won’t make decisions for you or
assume I know more about what’s best for your family than you or step on your partner’s toes.

My Offerings

I am here to lobby for your right to a respectful birthing experience and to support you to feel held, heard and honoured
